Are you looking for a new challenge this September? Look no further than the Foys to Blacktail Trail Marathon! This race is an Epic point-to-point marathon that starts at Blacktail Mountain and takes you about 26-miles of mostly single track trails with more than 5,000 feet of climbing. The first 2,800 feet of climbing occur in just over 5 miles to the top of Blacktail Mountain. The last 21 miles still include >2000 feet of climbing as you gradually descend the long ridge leading to the finish at Herron Park. Run/Mobility/Strength Foys-to-Blacktail Training Programs! Take your training up a notch with one of three training plans created specifically for this trail Marathon, available through Training Peaks. The way it works is we will set you up with a training peaks account (if you don't already have one). Next we load the specially made Foys-to-Blacktail training program to your account. Access your training plan anywhere on the TrainingPeaks mobile and desktop apps. Planned workouts will sync to compatible devices and guide you through workouts in real time (Learn More). These Custom plans are available through June 2024.
Level 1 - Plan starts for those who can comfortable run or run/walk hybrid 6 miles.
Level 2 - Intermediate training, plan starts with an 8 mile long run.
Level 3 - Advanced plan includes 2-double cardio days per week.
